"At Bar Esla I stopped at 11:30, too early for lunch so I settled for tapas, tortilla and tongue which were both super. Gastronomically this is one of the highlights of the Via de la plata. The lady behind the bar is also very friendly and helpful if you don’t speak much Spanish. It’s a very lovely place and well worth a little detour. After I slightly probed her, the desert fridge opened and out came a delicious crème brûlée type of dish which gave me an idea of what I’ve been missing in terms of proper lunch here."

"One of our very best meals riding the Via De La Plata. The menu of the day was exceptional and an incredible value. The owner and staff could not be more friendly. An absolute gem of a restaurant in a quaint small town. Hopefully, the lemon mousse will be on the menu."

"Pedimos el menú del día y estaba todo muy bueno: garbanzos con calamares, pastel de salmón y gulas y jamón al horno. Yo pedí las crestas zamoranas por primera vez y me encantaron. El camarero es eficiente, atento y su simpatía es natural. Un buen lugar para comer si viajas por la A-66."
